Welcome to The Trib... Our gorgeous Tranny Forums supremo, Sarah Connor, has a forums update for you, now that she's been in charge for a whole three months. She's been doing a sterling job by the way. US Presidential candidate and outragous tranny girl, Bennie Lee, has been travelling the world since we last caught up with her in the September edition of The Tranny Tribune. She's recently returned from visits to the Middle East and Holland. There's more from our globe-trotting tranny politician below. Trannyweb's 8th birthday came and went with little pomp and circumstance this year. We thought we'd keep it low key this time but we've already started making plan's for our ninth and we hope there will be huge celebrations around the world when we reach a full decade. Back in our October edition, we appealed for girls to appear on a British daytime TV show called "The Wright Stuff". This month we have another chance for you to appear in a TV show (see below) but do be careful. Remember Jerry Springer! I was talking to MA yesterday and we remembered Trannybay, a tranny version of eBay that we used to run a couple of years back. The idea was entirely honest and good but for various reasons (mainly anonymity) our tranny community did not support it well enough so it failed and disappeared within a few months. We don't want that to happen to our main site. We need you to become involved and take part in history. One day, when TG people are accepted everywhere and there is no more need for an online community like ours, people will look back fondly at Trannyweb. It'll be like "remember the sixties" again. If you would like to become part of what has already been a very important chapter in the history of TG, we'd love to hear from you. We need all kinds of people to help out, whether by contributing articles or interviews for the Tranny Tribune or by helping to organise social events, running a forum or a quiz night in the chat room. Whatever - if you think you have something to contribute to the community please drop a line to Katie. Thom Poole is a researcher with Electric Sky Productions in Brighton, UK and he recently dropped us a line to tell us about a new series he's working on. He says, "We are currently working an idea about the notion of ‘Beauty’ and what that means exactly. Obviously there are all different ‘types’ and approaches and one of those we want to explore is through cross dressing. We would ideally like to get a teenage perspective. We would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in taking part?" So, are you up for it girls? If you do want to be in this epic then please do make sure you get an undertaking from the producers that you will not be ridiculed in any way, as has happened to tranny girls on TV in the past (think Jerry Springer). It's been a long time since we looked at redesigning the Trannyweb community site. However, we've decided that the time has come to bring it kicking and screaming up to date with a snazzy new look for the New Year. It's going to take some time but one day soon, when you log in you'll see things laid out a bit differently. We'll be taking notice of all of the comments we've received about the way the site works (or doesn't work) now and we'll be designing in fixes for all of the problems you have highlighted in the past. We hope to bring you regular updates on our progress via this organ, so don't be too surprised if things start to look a little different around here in the New Year.

Hello you. My apologies for the lack of a Tranny Tribune last month. Various personal issues conspired to thwart my best efforts and we ran out of time. That was the first time in years that we missed our deadline and hopefully it won't happen again in future. To ensure that is so, I have slapped myself on the wrist. However, this edition has also been delayed because of Christmas. Soz!
TV researchers and producers often contact us at Trannyweb when they are looking for TG people to appear in their shows. It seems the viewing public have a real interest in trannies and that may be why you see trannies on TV so often - we're a ratings winner!

Bennie Lee Visits the Middle East
Transgendered independent write-in U.S. presidential candidate Bennie Lee "Ben" Ferguson recently returned on November 24 from a three-week vacation/fact-finding mission to the Middle East and Europe. The candidate visited Israel (including the tiny self-proclaimed micronation of Akhzivland), the Netherlands, Germany, and Switzerland. During stopovers in Minneapolis, Minnesota she campaigned briefly and visited the infamous "Larry Craig" men's room at the airport.
A strong advocate of decreased U.S. military and financial support of the Israeli state, Ferguson was keen to visit either Gaza or the West Bank during her stay in the Middle East. Due to security concerns, this proved inadvisable. However, she did meet with Palestinian representative Anijad Nasser in Jerusalem to express her sympathy regarding the plight of the Palestinian people.
While in Jerusalem, Bennie visited the Shushan Bar, the city's only GLBT nightspot which was unfortunately going out of business that very weekend. She was welcomed by the management, included in televised coverage of the event, and photographed by "Harrad" magazine's Tess Scheflan.
Ferguson arrived in Amsterdam on November 11 and participated in the tenth anniversary celebration of Lellebel, a local gathering place for transgendered people. Having lived in Amsterdam from 1979-1986, it was a homecoming of sorts for the candidate who enjoyed a chance to brush up on her Dutch while visiting with Lellebel's patrons.
Back in the U.S., the candidate is focusing on attempts to recruit volunteers to serve as electors for her campaign. She is particularly concerned at this point with the states of Texas, Kansas, and North Dakota. Interested parties may e-mail the campaign at bennieleeferg@hotmail.com. |
