Welcome to The Trib... We've had some fun and games since we last spoke. In the last week we have dispensed with our London mailing address, when we discovered that they had been erroneously sending our mail back to the senders marked "Not known at this address"! If you have sent us any mail via that address recently and had it returned, please accept my apologies. Hopefully we will have a new address very soon but in the meantime it's email only if you need to contact us. I recently had the pleasure of interviewing an amazing young lady called Jamie Young, who is the author of a great book appropriately called, "The World's Best Crossdressing Guide" - and it really is. In the course of my long and sometimes checkered tranny career, I have read piles and piles of books on dressing, make-up, deportment, feninisation and so on. But I must say, Jamie's book really is most impressive. It's also been written from the point of view of a crossdresser so the author knows exactly what you are trying to achieve. Ordinary make-up books just don't do that. Everything is in one place so you don't need separate books for make-up and other facets of crossdressing. The World's Best Crossdressing Guide is full of tips and tricks for making sure you are able to pass easily in public and you only have to look at the photos of Jamie (below) to know that they really work. I'm pleased to welcome my longtime friend, Sarah Conor as our new Head Forum Administrator. I'm sure she will do a sterling job and you can help too by checking out the enormous Trannyweb forums by clicking here. Maybe start a new thread yourself or reply to an existing thread. Our Trannyweb Girly Nights Out in both the UK and USA are gathering pace and there's more on our Chicago Night Out and our UK Halloween Night Out below. We also had a message this week, from The Wright Stuff TV show, which is looking for TS girls to appear on the show soon. More on that below too. It's taken me ages to type this little editorial 'coz my nails are still wet. Such is life. Anyway, please read and enjoy your Tranny Tribune this month and please do try to visit the Trannyweb site and take part. Remember the old adage - "Use it or lose it". Hugs, Katie xxxx Dr

A prolific poster in the forums, Sarah has been with Trannyweb since 2003. She has also already been a forum moderator for some time. Buoyed on by the success of appointing Maryanne Talmadge as our Head Chat Room Moderator a few months back, we are now looking to find, “Heads of Department” for other areas around the site and naturally, the next most obvious area was the forums. Like Maryanne in the chat rooms, Sarah will have a completely free hand to appoint her own team of moderators and she has already come up with a number of exciting ideas for making her forums more successful. In their heyday a couple of years back, the Trannyweb forums were attracting over 150 posts a day. We are hoping that Sarah and her girls will be able to make that the norm in the future. So look out for lots of changes in the Trannyweb forums over the coming days and weeks.Congratulations Sarah – you are now our Head Forum Administrator. An Australian transsexual police officer faces trouble in the in the ranks of Victoria's police force because she insists on using female facilities. Female colleagues say they are uneasy about having to share their changing areas, showers and toilets with Constable Bernice Canty, who was moved from the Boroondara station at Kew to the Croydon station in August. Some of the other female officers working with her there want her to use the disabled facilities instead. Secretary of the Australian Police Association, Paul Mullet has been quoted as saying that the prospect of a transsexual officer in the force was "mind-boggling'' but has since changed his stance to fit in with Australia's discrimination laws, saying that said all members' rights would have to be considered. DONNA ROSE RESIGNS FROM HRC OVER ENDA
The only transgendered board member at the Human Rights Campaign has resigned because they are not opposing the orientation-only version of the controversial US Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Donna Rose, who resigned from the HRC’s board on October 3rd, said, "I really believe that the board feels as though they have the best interest of the LGBT community in mind even though the end result doesn’t appear that way." If it becomes law, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (aka ENDA) will extend federal anti-discrimination protection to gay, lesbian, and bisexual workers and make it illegal for employers to base hiring, firing, wage and promotion decisions on a person’s sexual orientation. However, President George W. Bush has already promised a veto. Trannyweb UK Halloween Girly Nights Out
Once again it's time for the Trannyweb UK Halloween Girly Nights Out in Manchester, UK, on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October. Come dressed as spookily as you like! There will also be the usual sit-down meal at the Velvet's on Saturday and then the action will probably move on to Napoleon's. All of our girls are welcome. Please contact Maryanne Talmadge or Justine Cairnes if you'd like to go along. Also, our next Cheese and Wine evening will be held in the chat room on the evening of Sunday 14th October at 8pm BST (that's 7pm GMT). Everyone is welcome. Just bring some cheese and some wine. See you there!

The Trannyweb Celebrity Interview This month Trannyweb's Katie Glover talks to the author of an amazing new book on crossdressing, Jamie Young...
KG: Firstly, please tell us a bit about yourself, what kind of TG person you are, where you're from and suchlike. JY: I am a transvestite from Toronto, Ontario. I have been working with the transgender community for over three years now. My academic background includes psychology, criminology and liberal arts. My professional background includes image consulting, acting and film making. JY: You know. When I was eight years old, just like many boys, I had toys like miniature trucks, cowboy hats and action figures like Batman and Superman. My kid sister was lucky because she had stuffed animals and Barbie dolls. I remember what I often did was I would put one of my sister’s Barbie dolls in an imaginary situation where the villain captured her and my Batman would come to her rescue. However, unlike most boys, I imagined myself as the Barbie, not the Batman. I guess that was when I discovered I was different. Then when I was twelve years old, I would take my mother's clothes from her closet and prance in front of the mirror in them. KG: Tell us about your early attempts at passing. How successful were you?
KG:. You worked as an image consultant. How did that help your dressing? JY: I've been studying women's fashions for a long time and I've always been interested in observing human behaviour. Therefore, by constantly examining and comparing other people's appearances and the ways they behave, I began to come up with a long list of "do's and don'ts" to help me with my dressing. For example, I learned that a real woman does not dress like a streetwalker with heavy makeup when she shops at her local supermarket.
JY: I realized that a lot of crossdressers out there would not experience the same beauty training that their sisters, mothers, girlfriends and wives had experienced since they were born simply because they were brought up as males. Therefore, I decided to put together a comprehensive guide with all my years of experience and knowledge and hope it will benefit many crossdressers who are struggling to achieve better femininity. KG: What in your opinion is the key to passing as a female in public and what do most of us get wrong? JY: Creating a feminine face is the most important part for an individual to pass as a female. You must have seen women in men's clothes who try to talk and act like men. However, since their faces are still feminine, you will never perceive them as men. What I am trying to say is that it does not matter what you wear if your face does not pass. Also, you must pay attention to what real women wear in public and learn from them because you would rather "blend in" instead of drawing a lot of attention to yourself. You don't want to dress like a showgirl who is about to go on stage or a girl who just came from her prom.
JY: Yes, I do receive a lot of positive feedbacks from the readers. My book "The World's Best Crossdressing Guide" has helped many of its readers to enhance their passability as women. My book covers enormous techniques and tricks so it saves its readers from struggling through many unnecessary trials and errors. Also, my other four titles, "How to Find Your Female Voice Handbook", "About Feminizing Hormonal Therapy," "Online & Offline Resources For The Transgendered," and "Changing Your Identity Report" contain many resources and lots of information and they help the readers to look as feminine and passable as possible. KG: What plans do you have for the future? Any more gems like "The World's Best Crossdressing Guide" in the pipeline? JY: Yes, I am currently working on a book that provides lots of information and resources on gender reassignment. I am also planning to work on a book that provides information on how to secure employment for crossdressers who want to be en femme full time.
KG: Some of our members are worried about books like these being delivered through the mail, especially those who live outside the US. Is there any way they can have access to your work without the postman finding out? JY: My books are available as digital downloads so nothing will be delivered through the mail. Your privacy is very important to me. KG: Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about? JY: I want all my "sisters" out there to be able to pass as real women in public and I am very thankful for all the encouragement I receive from my readers. I promise I will continue to improve the content of my books by coming up with even better techniques for crossdressing. If you'd like your own copy of Jamie's book, The World's Best Crossdressing Guide, please click here to download it now. |
