Welcome to The Trib and to my editorial for May 2007.

We have the dates and times of our next Cheese & Wine Party and our next Trannyweb Girly Shopping Trip for you. There isn't a night out in May but we are gearing up for Sparkle and would like to hear from you if you are going and think you can help out on our Sparkle stand.

Porscha Palomar continues her series of interviews on, "What Trannyweb has done for me", this month speaking to our Head of Chat, Maryanne Talmadge, and Kayla Tiernan talks about her very first experience of going out in public dressed en-femme. The fact that she took the plunge on a Trannyweb Girly Night Out, no doubt made it easier and extra special!

My First Manchester Trip by Kayla Tiernan (aged 32 - eek!)

The only words I can think of that begin to scratch the surface of how amazing this weekend was for me are 'Oh', 'My', and 'Goodness', but before I say anything else I have to say a huge 'Thank You!' to Justine for letting me stay at her house on the Friday night.

She knew I was dreading having to meet everyone in drab on Saturday (which is what would've happened if I hadn't stayed at hers. I'm living at my mum's at the minute and she doesn't want me going out from her house dressed. Her house, her rules.)

So, because Justine is the fab person she is, I was able to travel over to Mancs dressed and meet everyone as me- yay!

I suppose the weekend started for me on Friday at work. I spent most of the day thinking (worrying?) about what to wear for the night out. The day time was no problem, I've got lots of day time stuff but not really anything dressy enough for a night out.

So I called in at the shops on the way home for a last-minute panic search for a new top for Saturday night. I didn't find what I was looking for but I did come away with some new knickers and a brolly, just in case. Dull, perhaps, but a girl needs clean pants ;)

So, arriving home later than I wanted, I had a quick shower and packed my case. Except the case wasn't big enough so I unpacked that one and dug a bigger case out (which still wasn't big enough for everything I wanted to take, but that's another story).

Now, please bear in mind I told Justine I'd be at hers for half eight. I got home at around quarter to six, showered, did my legs and other stuff, panicked about what to wear (again), packed my case, had another mini-panic re: what to wear so by now it was around half seven. It takes about two hours to get from my mum's to Justine's using public transport. I was never going to get there for half eight, was I? I got there at about half nine :/ Sorry Justine.

Justine met me off the bus and we got to hers and we had a bottle and a bit of white wine. And a packet of Jaffa Cakes. Justine may or may not insinuate that I scoffed the lioness's share of them, but I'll deny everything, lol. She stuck a film on (Perfect Man) and Heather Locklear still looks amazing and Hilary Duff is fabulous.

Update your credit card details online

Some of our Full Annual Members who took advantage of our Half Price Membership Sale a year back, have found that their subscriptions did not renew automatically this year, meaning that they then had to upgrade again at the full price.

The reason their subscriptions did not renew was because they had been issued with new cards by their credit card companies and so, when Metacharge tried to put through the transaction a year on, it failed because their new card had a different expiry date and security number. Their subscriptions were then automatically cancelled by Metacharge.

There is a way around this however. You can ensure that your subscription will renew at the old rate by simply updating your credit card details online, so that Metacharge have the latest information.

If you have been issued with a new card or if your card details have changed since you started your subscription, please go to this Metacharge page to enter the new information:

https://secure.metacharge.com/consumer

You will need the user name and password that they sent you by email, at the time you started the subscription. Your Metacharge user name will usually be the same as the email address you gave them at that time.

Next TW Girly Shopping Trip - London, UK

Our next Trannyweb Girly Shopping Trip is scheduled for Saturday 26th May.

Some of the girls are meeting up for another shopping trip to Camden Market in London. It's a fabby day out with a few drinks and socialising with

As many of our girls are saving up for Sparkle, we have decided not to hold a TW Girls Night Out in May.  We have also been discussing making a departure from the usual Manchester venue in July and/or August and will try organising our "Girls Nights Out" in some other parts of the country. Please keep an eye on future issues of The Tranny Tribune for details on the venues and dates.

Justine is also interested in talking to anyone who has any ideas for nights out around the UK or ideas for new events we could mount. She would also like to hear from people who would like to join our UK Social Committee. Again, if that sounds like you, please drop Justine a line by clicking here. She won't bite.

In the second interview in this series, Porscha Palomar talks to our Head of Chat, Maryanne Talmadge, about what Trannyweb has done for her...

Porscha Palomar: Maryanne, you are a happily married man with a family. How do you perceive your situation in context of the evolutionary process that has seen you become the person you are today?

Maryanne: That's a tough one! I was very fortunate that Mags accepted the "girl" side of me with the proviso "not in front of the kids" as two mums would be too confusing. So I have been able to be me most of my life and in fact it's got to the stage where Mags prefers Maryanne. I'm a nicer person, apparently!

Porscha Palomar: From the family situation to the world of the the transvestite, the transgendered and the gay. How did you find the journey and were you comfortable with it?

Maryanne: Comfortable? No, I don't think so. Most of my teens were spent being totally confused about my sexuality. I made
some terrible mistakes at times. They taught me I was not gay; but there was no internet then, so no way of finding out what the heck was wrong with me. In saying that, I have no regrets - just experiences that made me the person I am.

Porscha Palomar: You once told me that your time since joining Trannyweb has been the happiest of your life?

Maryanne: Well since finding Trannyweb, reading the forums and finding out I was not alone has helped me a great deal. But being a chatty cow I love the chatroom, and through that I I have met some of the finest people I ever thought possible. I have met and made more friends here in three years than I have met elsewhere in the last thirty, and no one judges you here.

Porscha Palomar: You have moved on a lot in the last three years. From simply being a member of TW to being its Head of Chat. In many respects you are representative of of the site. How do you view your responsibilities and was the transition an easy one?

Maryanne: Yes, my progress since those first steps into Trannyweb in October 2004 have certainly been an adventure. The first time I was asked to be a mod (hostesses now) I refused because I felt a bit too new to the site. The next time I was asked I felt I had enough confidence to do the job properly. The head hostess job is only for a year anyway. I just hope I can pass on a bustling chatroom to the next head. Oh dear, I do hope I'm not the public face of TW. But never forget - Goths rule! Seriously though, I think TW has important work to do and I certainly want to have a hand in helping it grow and prosper.

Porscha Palomar: Do we need one another? Go back three years and no one on this site would have been known to you.
What then? Has this been a life transforming experience?

Maryanne: Oh, I'm absolutely convinced we need one another. Three years ago I was a happy in-house tranny. Now, well the rest is history (or should I say herstory). The girls I've met, I've spoken to on the phone, and those I just share cyberspace with, have all contributed to a totally life transforming experience and I thank all of them.
