Firstly, a big round of applause please, for Justine Cairns who has been appointed to run our UK Social Committee. Justine has already been very much involved with with organising our girly nights out in Manchester and our Cheese and wine parties in the chat room.
It is fitting therefore, that she should now head up the social committee. We are now looking for more social committee members for the UK, the US and around the world. Please do let us know if you are interested in helping to organise Trannyweb events in your area. This month also sees the appointment of two new Supermods who will be helping to run the Trannyweb Forums.
Lilienne Li from Los Angeles and Anna-Mare Trindall from Norwich in the UK will be overseeing all of our forums from now on and helping to keep the conversation flowing. We think they will do a superb job and ask for your support. Lily the Bear Cub is also joining us as co-host of our Significant Others forum, currently hosted by Gillian Dundas. Both are genetic girlies and have first hand experience of living with transgender people. all your printing needs... Transgender & Buddhism
She casually mentioned her interest in Buddhism in a recent email to Katie and realising that this is a subject that could be of much interest to our membership, we asked her to tell us more... I have been learning about Buddhism for some time now. It has become a dominant part of my life and influences much of my daily life. I have to say that in general it is 'working' - if you know what I mean. Though I am still confused regarding my gender, I am happier overall these days. I am learning to deal with it and accept it is part of who I am. I do not believe that I will transition anymore, although I do reserve the right to change my mind should my drive to do so change. :) Buddhism has taught me that it is not the problems in our life which cause us suffering, but how we relate to those problems. For instance, I had a dental infection recently which was extremely painful. So painful in fact, that I took myself down to A&E the next morning, as I thought I had taken too many paracetamol during the previous 24 hours. The pain was so bad that I just couldn't think clearly, I couldn't do anything, but also I couldn't sit still. I was desperate! At the hospital they put me on a drip. They had to administer the drip at a fast rate, 500ml in an hour or something - I'm not too sure. This made me very sick indeed. So as I was lying there on the bed in A&E, my mind was contorting, wishing the pain would "go away" ("get the hell out of here" would be more accurate). But then, remembering some of my Buddhist teachings, I decided to try them out. I stopped fighting the pain and just let the pain be with me. I stopped trying to get rid of the pain and just watched it. After a few minutes of trying this the extreme pain started to turn into numbness and after a while it became very bearable. However, as something or somebody would distract me I would lose my concentration and the pain would return. I am not claiming any breakthrough along some spiritual path, but that...

Changes to Trannyweb Membership
This decision was taken following several incidents in the chatroom recently and various discussions with the membership in the forums and with members of the Trannyweb team. Trannyweb is simply not geared up to offer services to minors and so instead we have created a page of links to other organisations which are able to cater for under 18's. We have also decided not to offer Basic membership to new members from now on, in an effort to encourage more new members to go for Full Membership which is our life blood. Out of around 30000 members only about 1.5% are actually Full Members. This is about the same percentage as we had 18 months ago. To prevent Trannyweb from heading into more financial difficulty, we intend to run a major Full Member recruitment drive soon, which may help us to keep the wolf from the door. At this juncture, may we also remind our slightly better off members the Trannyweb Inner Circle, our Benefactor's page which is available here: http://www.trannyweb.com/innercircle.shtml Our more well heeled members can make a one-off donation or donate on a regular basis. Me And My Bloomers...
I have been sewing since my mother first trusted me with a needle and thread. It was my first love. I started with peg dolls, moved up to rag dolls and then had the best dressed Cindy doll in the street! Now I am making bloomers, petticoats, pantaloons and all things frilly and girly. Why bloomers are you asking? Simply because I love it! I love the styles of bygone times.
Those beautiful long white billowy nightdresses that Catherine wore in "Wuthering Heights" to the bloomers and corset covers worn under the elegant dress’s of the ladies featured in the movie "Titanic", and the directoire style full high-waisted knickers our curvaceous Marilyn Monroe displayed so beautifully. It is all so very pretty and feminine. How can us girls not love it?

Trannyweb UK Girly Halloween Party in Manchester
Hi I’m Lucy and I'm new to the Tranny scene. I’ve been out dressed just once before, with a friend from Trannyweb, but that’s it really.
Anyways, I have made several friends at Trannyweb and was recently asked if I’d like to go to the TW girly night out in Manchester.I said yes and Justine, a lovely lady from Trannyweb, sent me emails telling me what I needed to know for the evening - hotel booking info, menu and the likes. I had several questions but she answered them all and it seemed like nothing was to much trouble for her.
On the day, we all met in the lobby of the hotel. We were supposed to meet in the bar next door, but this is how it worked out. Most were in drab (male mode) except the full time girls.
We all introduced ourselves, as I did not recognise most of the girls there and then we went to the bar next door. It was all very relaxed and we chatted and got to know each other a little more. The bar closed at 4pm and we went our separate ways to get ready. We were to meet in the hotel bar for 7pm. I was a little late but the others were later and at least I was not the first there. I have to say that as this was my first time venturing out onto the street, I was quite nervous but the girls were so relaxed that my nervousness disappeared and I started to enjoy being Lucy.
Next Cheese and Wine Evening... Just bring yourself along with some cheese and some wine.
