We've
been looking for a way to give our members a membership card
for ages but the answer was right here all along.
Buried
deep within the PERL scripts that run the Trannyweb community,
we discovered that the functionality to generate membership
cards for every member is already up and working.
So, with
a little tweaking here and there, and a quick visit to Photoshop,
we are now proud to unveil our new Trannyweb Membership Cards.

AND TELL US WHAT YOU REALLY THINK |
| About
two and a half years back, we held a survey to try to discover
what direction we should take in the future.
The results
are for the most part responsible for the Trannyweb you know
today.
However,
a lot has changed since then so we've decided that we need
to find out once again, about what we do well, what we don't,
where we go wrong, what you're unhappy about, how we can improve
and where you would like to steer your Trannyweb in the future.
So, although
it's already been running for a couple of weeks in the wings,
let us now bring on stage and officially unveil The
Great Trannyweb Survey of 2004!
Your answers
to our questions will be most important and will determine
how we look in a few weeks and months time.
Indeed,
since we posted the survey, we have already acted upon many
of your replies and suggestions.
There
are actually three surveys to be had - just make sure you
are logged in and then either click on the TrannySurvey
item in the main menu or click
this link to access them.
Please
answer every question and be as honest as you can be. Remember,
we're not just looking for compliments here. We need to know
what you don't like too so we can improve.
For every
survey you complete you'll get 15 Tranny Credit. What are
they? To be honest, we haven't decided yet but they're bound
to come for a future Trannyweb feature. |

VERSION 26 NOW AVAILABLE |
| 
The
latest version of Sandra's brilliant T-Log program is now
available with a host of with improvements and some important
fixes.
FIXES
Going from the measurements / chart to daily log and then
going back to measurements/ chart resulted in a "cannot
focus" error
Charts/weight:
in the chart were included only the values of the days with
recorded measurements ; procedure modified to include data
of weight of all days
Counters:
in case of wide periods, due an error in the formula, it wasn't
showed the number of years between the two dates
Charts:
in the combobox the "chest" was missing: added
Medications
manager: using it on the selected/ focused day, while in the
edit state, resulted in a "record is in use by another
user" error
Charts:
now they're available directly through a button on the top
toolbar, and not anymore inside the measurements page
NEW
FEATURES
Counters:
extended to the "reminders" the feature of choosing
the style for showing the difference between dates
Measurements:
two new columns added: neck and calf; added in the charts
too
Charts:
added "fat %" in the combobox
Charts:
added themes support (right click on the chart)
Charts:
now it's possible to show/hide the value marks (right click
on the chart) ; marks are automatically hidden if values are
more than 30, but can be showed at request using right-click
popup menu.

 Welcome
to the October 2004 edition of The Tranny Tribune. There's
so much going on this month!
It's taken months of testing but in
this issue we 'officially' unveil our new anonymous membership
payment system, so now you can join Trannyweb without
using Credit Cards and without actually telling anyone
who you are! There's more below.
The
Transfandango Ball promises to be THE
spectacular event of the tranny year with Rocky Horror
creator and celebrity tranny, Richard O'Brien

We
officially launch our new GOLD Tranny Pendants
- they're just like the silver ones but in gold!
The
new TrannyChat chat rooms are still being installed this
week and our Tranny Poetry Competition is still going
with a Sterling Silver Trannyweb Pendant for the winner
(last chance to enter).
We
have two new forums and a new version of T-Log for our
Full Members to download.

 We
know that many of our members are people who will always
think twice before entering their real names into a
web browser, especially if it's to join a transgender
organisation.
Our
philosophy has always been that when you are logged
in to the Trannyweb Community Site you are there in
your female persona (unless you are an admirer or SO
or FtM tranny).
We
don't want to know your real name or address or anything
of your personal details. When you are with us you are
your female self and have left your male persona at
the entrance.

up till now this has caused problems for us in getting
people to sign up for Full Membership - the lifeblood

and UK members can pay by simply texting one word from
their mobile phones. You never have to fill out your
real details in any form and the name Trannyweb will
never appear on your phone bill.
Although
in some cases the various payment options carry different
booking fees, the base price for Full Membership is
still only US$5.99 per month making Trannyweb Full Membership
one of the best bargains on the web.

hoping that the system will be rolled out to members
in other parts of the world soon.

This

PENDANT COMPETITION |
| The
Donna Lace Poetry Competition is still running, but
not for much longer.
Donna,
who's one of our Canadian members, recently bought two
Trannyweb Silver Pendants. She's keeping one for herself
but has asked if we can give the second one away as
a prize in a competition.
Here's
her idea. It's a poetry competition.

| MAJOR
INVESTMENT IN TRANNYWEB INFRASTRUCTURE |
| After
our old server became unreliable a few weeks ago, we took the
decision to bring forward our Trannyweb expansion plan, which
was scheduled for next year, and moved the community site to two
new servers at the end of September.
Running everything
across two servers has now given a very significant increase in
speed with most pages now loading within 10 seconds, even when
the site is busy.
Katie has
also 'sprung the bucks' for DigiChat AV/IM, which is the video
version of DigiChat that we'd already planned to install last
month.
Katie said,
"The server problems got in the way and gave us a chance
to think again. We thought, 'let's go for broke so we can make
Trannyweb one of the best places for tranny people on the web'."
The new chat
system will allow many members to use audio chat and video chat
too. There's also an instant messenger which again, supports audio
and video and the chat rooms are platform independent, so Mac
users won't be left out.
The servers
and software and associated programming have cost in the region
of $4000, of which about 75% has been paid for by Katie, 18% by
advertising and subscriptions and 7% by donations.
The new chat
rooms alone have so far cost over $2500. They'll be available
to all members initially but will become Full Members only rooms
after a couple of weeks, in order to help pay for them.

NEW TRANNY FORUMS |
| Next
time you visit the Trannyweb forums you'll find two new ones,
which have been put there at the request of our members.
It's about
time we had a Technical
Support Forum where members can ask questions, not just
about Trannyweb, but also about other computer related matters.
Well now we do. It's hosted by one of our computer nerd girls,
Clair Rand.
Also, Gloria
Glover has made a clarion call for a new forum devoted entirely
to Transsexuality. A place where those of us who are going (or
have gone) all the way can pour our hearts out, safe in the knowledge
that we are safe from the gaze of the public.
Therefore,
we have created Transsexual
Transylvania as a Full Members forum as limited access
was one of the criteria requested by those who want to use it. |
