Hello and welcome to the Christmas edition of The Tranny Tribune, the official organ of the Trannyweb community. As usual, please let me apologise if you have received this in error. The most frequent reason for receiving it by mistake is when friends or colleagues register you as a prank.

This, our Christmas 2003 issue, has been sent only to Trannyweb members. To receive it, you must be registered with us.

This situation helps nobody. If this is not your thing, we urge you to unsubscribe using the instructions at the bottom of this page. You must follow the instructions carefully though, or you won't be removed from the list.

We were unable to send out the October edition because we moved to a different area in what has been become known as "The move from hell". But that's another story. To compensate, I'm hoping we'll be able to have an extra New Year edition next month.

Remember, Trannyweb is an international organisation with members all over the world. Our small band of advertisers keep us afloat and without them we'd be lost, so please do help to support your community by checking our advertisers websites and using their services.

Gaby, seen here wearing a different outfit

British TV presenter, Gaby Roslin, caused a bit of a stir recently, when she co-presented the BBC's Children in Need appeal, wearing a gorgeous little black dress and boots.

A couple of our members wrote to Katie asking if she had seen Gaby on TV that night and a couple more asked in the Trannyweb forums, if anyone knew where Gaby bought her clothes.

Katie (being a friend of the stars) dropped Gaby a line,not really expecting a reply, and was amazed when Gaby came back to her with the answer to the question we'd all been asking - "Where did you get that frock (and boots)"?

Of course, they came from some fairly posh shops that Katie can't afford to go to. Thanks anyway Gaby - you're now a Tranny icon!

I was so pleased when our community software was upgraded recently but my euphoria was not to last long. Although the upgrade was a major success in most areas, the new chatroom was not one of them.

It does work but not for everyone. After much messing about, the company who sold it to us admitted defeat and withdrew it from sale. They no longer sell chatrooms. In the meantime, Katie has been saving up for some new tried and tested chatroom software.

After consulting with the programmers in Canada, we have decided to go for a system called Volano which has been used effectively by thousands of customers for many years. However, before it can be used on the Trannyweb site, it needs to be integrated with our membership database. This is to ensure that only members are able to access chat following a myriad of complaints from our girls who were regularly hasseled in the old,old TrannyChat chatroom.

Hopefully, Santa will bring Katie some new chat software (after all, she's been good all year) and we'd hope to have it all installed and running sometime in early new year.

Us girls were all very proud to hear that British tranny and pottery artist, Grayson Perry, who 's known for creating vases depicting subjects like death, has won this year's Turner Prize.

Perry stunned the assembled media by accepting the award in a dress, as his female alter-ego Claire.

He beat off competition from the favourites, the Chapman brothers and was also a popular choice among the public.

Wearing his purple dress with large bows and frills, Perry told the award ceremony at the Tate Britain gallery in London: "It's about time a transvestite potter won the Turner Prize."

"I think the art world had more trouble coming to terms with me being a potter than my choice of frocks."

His dress, which cost £2,500, was decorated with rabbits, frowning hearts and the words "Sissy" and "Claire". How sweet.
