June 2002 Hello girls and welcome to the Flamin' June issue of our girly periodical, The Tranny Tribune. It's all about TrannyWeb and special girls like us. We may soon start to send out The Trib in HTML format with pictures, as the results of our Text versus Piccies Survey have shown that the vast majority of our girls who have voted so far, would prefer it sent this way. So, this may be the last of the old fashioned text editions. You can of course see this edition of the Trib in full colour with pictures on the site, by clicking here. In this issue, Rikki Radoula continues her series on how you can come out to friends and colleagues - scary! More pictures of Rikki too, including one with the lovely Jodie Lynn from The Boudoir. We continue the debate that's been going over the last few weeks, about how we're going to keep TrannyWeb from going bust in the coming months, with a survey of ideas that could generate some revenue and keep our heads above water. PLEASE DO THE SURVEY - IT'S VERY IMPORTANT! Just as important, if not moreso, is a call to our membership to help in the fight against cancer. Now, anyone with a PC can help by becoming part of the biggest computer in the world! Meet Espy Lopez from Classic Curves International in our chat room on Friday 5th July - she should be a most interesting guest. More below... We also have SPECIAL DISCOUNT OFFERS FOR OUR MEMBERS and there's the usual call for International Tranny Journalists. By the way, if you'd like us to advertise your tranny event, free of charge, just drop us a line at events@trannyweb.com. And that's it - this month's Tranny Tribune! Hugs, Katie - Editor Girl Table of contents
1. STEPS TO COMING OUT (part 3) - Developing a Style - by Rikki Radoula
In the days when I was a cross dresser, I never much thought about style. I just wanted to wear a skirt or dress - I wanted the feel of the soft fabrics on nylon clad legs - I wanted to feel the wind catch my skirt and luxuriate in those unfamiliar sensual feelings of wearing feminine clothing. So I bought more for feel that look - In fact when I think back I must have looked a state. My feminine desires were so repressed, that when I had a chance to give them free reign I was like a kid in a candy shop - I would change a dozen time in a evening - trying on everything I had, but I also had a problem acquiring clothes because I was very nervous about being seen shopping for women's clothes. Once I began wearing female clothing most of the time at home my feelings changed. I became much more concerned about my appearance. I remember my first trip to the Way-Out Club in September 2000 - I walked into the club full of trepidation, not knowing what to expect. This was the first time for over 10 years I had been to a Tranny Club. I went early when it's pretty much all Trannies there and met Vicky Lee and a few other girls. I was dressed OK - I had been practicing for six months with make up, visited Transformation and bought a few rather expensive products - but they were very friendly and helpful and going to their shop had helped me to build up the courage I needed. However by midnight, I knew I had to do something about my wardrobe and my weight - I realised I had a rather frumpy, mumsey style. A month later I took my ex-partner with me. She wanted to come out with me to see if she could handle it and out of pure inquisitiveness. We realised that night that there was no future for us. She was unable to show any affection to me in case someone saw. And she told me I looked very old fashioned - which was true. Most of my clothes had been acquired over the past 10 years and some were second hand from charity shops, all were size 20. So I needed to update my wardrobe - but with what - I started buying two types of clothes - Female clothing I could wear in the day and still pass as a man - Androgynous clothing - and Club Wear, sexy clothing I could wear at the trannie venues in London and Manchester and elsewhere. The androgynous clothes were of real value because although they look similar to male clothing, there is a world of difference in the feel. They're softer, lighter and they fit so differently. And of course trousers are what most women wear when they go shopping. Tops had different neck lines and I began to push myself - what would I dare to wear as a Guy? As I became more confident with these fashionable but androgynous clothes - I didn't notice the shift in me, till one day shopping, I walked up to the counter and one assistant said to another "Oh, can you serve this lady please."
I had also discovered TK Max which is an Aladdin's cave - if you have the patience to search. The House of Drag launch party was coming up on December 7th 2000 and I had decided that I was going. I found a really nice evening dress that flattered and booked a professional makeover for the night with Jodie Lynn of The Boudoir. That also meant a new wig. At the time I did not know where to go and was very concerned that I went to a trannie friendly place so I went back to Transformation. For someone like me at the time - very scared and very inexperienced - their help was worth the extra cost and it was a chance to get a wig fitted and make sure that it suited me. Jodie restyled it for me that night and transformed my look. I knew I looked good and that made be feel good. I received compliments on my looks for the first time. The picture I took that night became my coming out picture for the next year and it gave me the confidence to begin going shopping dressed, but that's another story... Rikki Radoula2.
THE
GREAT TRANNYWEB SURVEY OF 2002
What can TrannyWeb do for you? The reason I ask is because we have to introduce some means of generating revenue very soon as I am finding the bills, more and more difficult to pay. We may have a new server soon(ish), thanks to a much appreciated donation and I'd really like to start this new chapter in the TrannyWeb story, with new software too, which won't be cheap. It would also be financially prudent to cut out the middleman who charges me a fortune every month for bandwidth I have several ideas but I don't really want to embark on any of them unless I am fairly sure that I have your backing and that they will be successful. Hence this little survey. There are only ten questions so it should take no time at all. PLEASE, EVERYONE DO THIS SURVEY - IT'S VERY IMPORTANT. You can get to the survey by clicking here or on the banner below... Also, if you have any ideas for the new TrannyWeb, like photo galleries or personalised home pages, please drop me a line at trannywebideas@trannyweb.com. Thanks. Love you all. Katie 3.

HELP TO CURE CANCER One in four of us will at some time suffer from cancer. The high mortality rate, the suffering experienced by patients from the side effects of existing treatments, and the high costs of treatment all contribute to making cancer a priority for drug research. A landmark research project has begun that allows people to make a real difference in the fight against cancer. The Intel-United Devices Cancer Research Project is asking you to volunteer your PC to help process molecular research being conducted by the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford in England and the National Foundation for Cancer Research. To participate, you simply download a very small, no cost, non-invasive software program that works like a screensaver: it runs when your computer isn't being used, and processes research until you need your machine. Your computer never leaves your desk, and the project never interrupts your usual PC use. There is no cost to participate and no impact on your computer use. The project software cannot detect or transfer anything on your machine but project-specific information. It just allows your computer to screen molecules that may be developed into drugs to fight cancer. Each individual computer analyzes a few molecules and then sends the results back over the Internet for further research. The goal is to enlist enough volunteers to provide very rich and thorough results to the University of Oxford for further research. This project is anticipated to be the largest computational chemistry project ever undertaken and represents a genuine hope to find a better way to fight cancer. The computational power to perform research of this scale is only available through the generosity of individuals like you. To enlist and become part of the largest and most important computer project ever undertaken, please go to: http://members.ud.com/projects/cancer/index.htm 5. BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL TRANNY JOURNALIST (again) The all new Tranny Tribune is aimed at girls like us around the world, and we are now looking for contributions and stories from you. This is your chance to become an international journalist. There's no money in it but it's a chance to get your story read by trannies right around the globe. We already have a subscriber list as long as your arm! If you'd like to submit something for us, please send it to trib@trannyweb.com and we could make you a star! 6.
