The
Tranny Tribune
April 2002
In this issue, Rikki Radoula continues her series on how you can come out to friends and colleagues - scary! Another picture of Rikki too - looking good gal! We continue the debate that's been going over the last few weeks, about how we're going to keep TrannyWeb from going bust in the coming months, with an idea from some of the membership. ANGIE BOWIE is appearing LIVE in OUR chat room tomorrow (Tuesday 9th April) and the BBC in England, make an appeal for Tranny girls to appear in a documentary. I thought the BBC was already full of trannies! And there's the usual call for International Tranny Journalists. By the way, if you'd like us to advertise your tranny event, free of charge, just drop us a line at events@trannyweb.com. And that's it - this month's Tranny Tribune! Hugs, Katie Table of contents
1. STEPS TO COMING OUT (part 2) - Finding the woman inside by Rikki Radoula
But I had an advantage then that I did not really appreciate until I finally came right out a couple of years ago. I had been trained in acting and that gave me some experience in make up, but it enable me to overcome the main reason most Trannies are read - deportment. My drama teacher once said, "How do you act drunk?" We all answered, "You stagger". "Wrong", he said, "Drunks do not try to stagger, they try not to stagger. They try to walk normally and look sober, but fail". Why is that lesson important? Well I have seen so many trannies who get the looks great, stunning make-up fabulous clothes and walk like John Wayne. It attracts ridicule. Look at Ru Paul 6ft 7 inches, by any standards a big man, but on stage absolute femininity even when on stage with very feminine women. The trick is not to act in a feminine manner but to BE FEMININE from the inside out. You have a woman inside you in your mind. When you were in the womb, you missed out on an important wash of testosterone and as a result your gender, you inner sense of self, developed along the default path female. Since then everyone around you has been conditioning you as male and any effeminate gesture has attracted derision. So now you need to let that woman be free. Become much more aware of the way women act. Watch the way they walk, talk and move. Watch them pick up a drink, cutlery, clothes and their handbags. Start to become much more observant about women, what they wear and how they do their makeup. Read their magazines, listen to them talking, notice the words they use, their grammar, their diction and most importantly their body language and gestures. This is important for three reasons 1. Women are more observant than men and training yourself to be more observant will start to stimulate the woman inside of you, you will start to feel her taking over and becoming stronger. 2. The world of women is a completely different universe to the world of men and you need to start seeing the world the way she sees it - you need to be in a womans world to feel feminine. 3. Observing womens behaviour changes your view of yourself. Its how you would have done it if you had been allowed to grow up as a little girl - you will find yourself thinking about it when you are alone you will start to dream and see yourself moving in your mind, doing things in a feminine way. She will start to become a part of you. If you followed my advice in the last issue of the Tranny Tribune you are already taking more care of yourself. Cleansing and personal hygiene are easy habits to change. But what about your weight? Women are obsessed with this. Men seem to think that being 16 stone with a 45 inch waist is handsome. Its not, its gross and weight on a man goes on in all the wrong places so get it off. The best way to do this is to join weight watchers. Why? Because its what women do go along to a meeting itll be almost all women there but men are welcome too and you can practice your awareness skills. Start talking to women about what they eat start learning to cook some of your own low fat foods. I love going along and just being one of the girls and they are all getting used to the changes in me now. Its all part of the process of finding the woman inside you - once you find her and start to become comfortable with her, crossing the gender divide will become much easier and more rewarding. Finally you can start to gently allow yourself to walk and move like a woman not by acting like a woman, but by just feeling feminine and allowing yourself to move in a feminine way. Remember as a woman
you are less competitive, less assertive and less pushy. At the same time
you expect to have doors opened for you - you expect to go first. As you walk along the street be aware of the difference in your walk. You dont have a womans hips but women walk from the hip, rather than the knee and take shorter steps. Imagine you are a woman and start to experience the joy in a walk along the high street, pausing to look in shop windows. Look at the clothes that might suit you, wander in and have a quick look - its OK for men to look at womens clothes. If you have the courage, start using a male shoulder bag. I did for years, till I gave up and just used handbags instead - now I never go anywhere without some kind of bag - I cant stand pockets full of wallets and pens and diaries. Everything I have outlined here you can do as a man to become more feminine without looking effeminate. You need to find the woman inside you. She is a gentle, vulnerable, caring and loving creature who needs nurturing. Experience that feminine joy and you will soon be much more comfortable out. Rikki Radoula2.

THE
BBC NEEDS TRANNIES! Here is a letter I received recently, from Zoe Russell-Stretten, who is working on a new BBC series and is looking for girls like us. If you live in the UK and want to be involved please drop her a line at zoe@outlineproductions.co.uk. Dear Katie
I am working on a brand new 10 part series for the BBC, looking frankly at the lifestyles of 20-30 somethings. We want to include the issues of transgender, and I could really do with some help! We would like to do a feature on transgender, and hopefully get in touch with a transsexual who has been taking hormone treatment and maybe using creams in order to develop breasts. Ideally this person would be pre-op, and we would like to do an interview focussing on the meaning of having breasts and possibly film a bra-fitting or other similar event. Clearly this would require a substantial amount of courage from the participant, so they would need to have a very outgoing personality in order for them to enjoy the experience, and take the opportunity to have their say.
The interview will be non-biased, non-judgemental and very simple mainly allowing our contributor to have their say, with no mean questions. The editorial style is in no way designed to send-up any of the programmes contributors.
One of the reasons we would like to look at the subject of breasts in this way, is to counter much of the FHM/Loaded style approach of the media to breasts and we hope that our audience will be encouraged to think about breasts, their impact and meaning in an alternative light.
I do hope that my facts, assumptions and terminology are correct, and that I havent inadvertently caused any distress. Please do correct me if you feel that I am headed down the wrong path! Our aim is to open minds, maybe raise some eyebrows, and all areas, persuasions, and groups will be included. We would like to hear from any pre-op transsexuals who have developed breasts and would be willing to talk about this.
Please let me know if you feel we have any chance of finding someone! I look forward to hearing from you.
Kindest regards, Zoe Russell-Stretten 4. BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNALIST (again) The all new Tranny Tribune is aimed at girls like us around the world, and we are now looking for contributions and stories from you. This is your chance to become an international journalist. There's no money in it but it's a chance to get your story read by trannies right around the globe. We already have a subscriber list as long as your arm! If you'd like to submit something for us, please send it to trib@trannyweb.com and we could make you a star! 5.
